SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to introduce direct flights from Sharjah International Airport to Amman City Airport beginning on November 15, 2026. The airline will operate this route four times weekly, creating an additional direct link between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia connects Sharjah with Queen Alia International Airport, providing travelers with access to two airports serving Amman. The upcoming flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Air Arabia launches Sharjah flights to Amman City Airport
Sharjah gains another direct Amman connection as Air Arabia expands its Jordan network.

Flight G9 169 departs from Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return flight, G9 170, departs Amman at 11:20 a.m. and lands in Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Reservations are available via the airline’s website, call center, and travel agency network. The route was announced on October 8, over a month before the first scheduled flight.

This new service from Sharjah enhances Air Arabia Group’s existing network in Jordan, which already includes flights from Abu Dhabi and Alexandria. The group’s Abu Dhabi operation connects Zayed International Airport with both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Additionally, direct flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport are part of the network. The addition of the Sharjah route offers travelers another departure point to reach the Jordanian capital.

Second Jordanian airport joins Sharjah flight network

Adel Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia Group, highlighted that the new service provides travelers with an alternative airport choice in Amman. He emphasized that this route will offer greater convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between Jordan and the UAE. The airline will maintain its existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, making Amman City Airport a secondary gateway on Air Arabia’s Sharjah route network.

Earlier in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched flights to Amman City Airport, starting on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. Before this addition, the Abu Dhabi-based airline already served Queen Alia International Airport. When the new service commenced, Air Arabia stated that its Abu Dhabi network provided a total of 10 weekly flights to Amman. This dual-airport approach will now extend to Sharjah as well.

Four weekly flights strengthen UAE-Jordan air links

Throughout the published schedule, the new Sharjah flights will be identified by the G9 169 and G9 170 service codes. Air Arabia’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The airline also offers SkyTime onboard entertainment, SkyCafe meals, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Customers interested in the new Amman City Airport route can make reservations through the airline’s standard sales channels before the flights commence in November.

This launch in November expands Air Arabia Group’s connectivity between the UAE and Jordan through multiple hubs. Passengers from Sharjah will have direct access to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi travelers already benefit from services to both airports via Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. Alexandria also maintains a direct route to Amman City Airport. The new Sharjah service adds four weekly flights to the Jordan schedule, further strengthening the airline’s regional network.
