Over 500 government officials, investors, and business leaders convened in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for a new edition of the Investopia Dialogues. This event marked the fifth consecutive time the global investment platform has been hosted in India. The discussions centered on transforming the strengthening bilateral relationship into tangible business initiatives and private-sector collaborations. Officials organizing the event highlighted that the initiative is a key catalyst for increasing cross-border capital flows, especially after the signing of the Bilateral Investment Treaty between the two nations.

The summit united major public and private sector stakeholders to explore opportunities in logistics, food security, advanced manufacturing, financial services, tourism, and artificial intelligence. UAE Ministry of Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri held discussions with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel during the event. The leaders focused on expanding collaboration between Emirati companies and regional industrial hubs in Gujarat. Bin Touq emphasized that Ahmedabad’s selection highlights Gujarat’s prominence as a leading industrial and economic hub.

Abdulrahman Mohammed Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment and President of Investopia, noted that the UAE contributes over 70 percent of the total investment inflows from Gulf Cooperation Council countries into India. He also pointed out that nearly 4,000 new Indian companies joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the first quarter of 2026. Alhawi stated that the Ahmedabad edition of the Investopia Dialogues represents a strategic milestone designed to facilitate Indian enterprises’ access to broader global markets via UAE financial hubs.

Promoting Capital Movement Along Emerging Industrial Corridors

The tangible business outcomes of the conference were underscored by significant corporate announcements from key regional industry players. LuLu Group, a major retail conglomerate, revealed plans for a 4,000 crore Indian rupee investment project in Ahmedabad. Chairman Yusuff Ali M.A. shared details of a development covering 21 acres, which will include a shopping mall, a five-star hotel, and serviced apartments. The project is expected to generate more than 15,000 jobs. Additionally, the group is launching a food park and a fish-processing facility.

Representatives from Marjan Developers highlighted an increasing trend of Indian investors engaging in real estate and hospitality sectors. Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Saqr bin Omar Al Qasimi expressed that Indian capital plays a crucial role in transforming Ras Al Khaimah into an international destination. Meanwhile, executives from the agribusiness firm Silal Group, including CEO Dhafer Al Qasimi, participated in sector-specific roundtable discussions focusing on modern agriculture, cold-chain infrastructure, and supply chain resilience.

Fostering Private Sector Alliances and Digital Innovation

Panels dedicated to strategic investment examined the roles of sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and private equity firms in funding large-scale infrastructure projects. Participants discussed strategies to streamline regulations and facilitate capital flow into high-yield sectors. Discussions around technology transfer focused on developing digital infrastructure and boosting artificial intelligence adoption across manufacturing sectors. These sessions aimed to enhance the overall competitiveness of both nations in knowledge-intensive industries.

The event wrapped up with multiple bilateral meetings intended to formalize institutional agreements among participating organizations. Organizers stated that the platform will continue facilitating global dialogues in major international markets to align private investment with macroeconomic goals. By prioritizing trade infrastructure, industrial technology, and joint ventures, the Investopia Dialogues initiative maintains its role in establishing reliable channels for investment that support global economic progress.
